Impact of Farmers' Protests in 2020

As per the present situation regarding the acceptance of farmers' demands by the Centre Government, there may be two options: A. Three Agricultural Acts may be scrapped, and most of the demands will be accepted. B. Major demands will be accepted, but the Government may not agree to scrap these three Agricultural Acts.

The government tells the farmers that these three Acts are beneficial to the farmers and their income will be doubled, and the middle-man will be removed. The income of farmers can only be doubled by doubling the Minimum Support Price of farmers' produce. In Agricultural Produce Marking Committee (APMC) Mandi, Artia is not a middle-man, but they only provide the services and charge for it. In the new three Acts there is no mention of a Minimum Support Price, so how can farmers believe that their income will be doubled? Big corporates will act as big middle-men and they will make big money, consumers have to pay a heavy price. In this way, the general population will suffer very much.

Delay in decision making by the Government regarding farmers' protest will have the following effects.

  1. Every farmer is well versed now, regarding the complications of three Farm Acts.

  2. Farmers of all the States of India get united, and now they can play a significant role in maintaining democracy in the country.

  3. Inter-State disputes come to zero levels, and these can be solved later by the farmers instead of politicians.

  4. People of all castes, creeds, religions, professions, and areas have come closed and now they feel friendly with each other. They have ignored their respective political parties and come to one platform.

  5. At present people live in villages like a family. They would like to solve their problems at the village level instead of courts.

  6. All the people in cities and villages feel secure and safe.

  7. Some of the political parties tried to divide the people to get votes, but now people have come to one platform.

  8. Now India will emerge as the strongest country in the World as the farmers' protest has united all the people in India and abroad.

  9. India has become a safe country to live and it will encourage tourism in India specially from abroad.

  10. Prices of all agricultural products will be stable and normal for farmers and consumers because corporates will not be allowed to make huge profits.

  11. Now people are well aware and corporates cannot control the Government.

  12. Farmers' protests will affect the election of 2022 significantly, as it happened in the 2014 election due to Anahajarae and farmers protest in India.
