Village Duhre had very strong team of football, during the period of 1950 to 1965. It was one of the best teams in the Districts of Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala. All the players were almost of same age, healthy and well trained. They always won the matches and hardly lost. Mostly they played the game with naked feet and played very precisely, confidently, and with good coordination. Their names are: Sukhchain Singh, Bakshis Singh, Bikar Singh, Ajit Singh ( lat ), Parkash Singh, Surjan Singh, Amrik Singh ( kahno ) Harbhajan Singh, Kawal Singh, Sawaran Singh, Amrik Singh (Buche ), Nirmal Singh, Ajit Singh ( nakur ), Harbhajan SIngh ( buche ), and Nirmal Singh ( Ashro ), at later stage Rasham Singh, Gurdev Singh, Dhean Singh, Terlochan Singh, and Gian Singh joined the team.

During 1960s many of the players went to England for livelihood and some became busy in their jobs so gradually all the team members dispersed and only a few new players joined the team. Although new players were very capable ( Rasham Singh, Gurdev Singh, and Terlochan Singh ), there were only few so the team did not remain as strong as it was. Duhre villagers may try to revive the football team, but now young boys are trying to leave the village for other countries to settle there for a better living. Manbeer Singh Duhra is outstanding football player. He has been selected in the Indian national football team. For the last many years he has been playing in reputed football clubs. Now many young football players are coming up, and we are very hopeful to have a very good football team in near future.
